The answer is yes, and sometimes it is easier to ‘communicate’ your requirements by sending a physical reference sample.
Even so, the supplier must still provide counter-samples made in their factory using materials supplied by their subcontractors. It is important to remember that one of the key reasons you need product samples is in order to test the supplier’s ability to make the product according to your specifications.
