When a shipment is held at customs, it creates a very tense and uncertain situation.

The following are some basic reasons why a shipment may be held in customs:

  • Customs may delay or even destroy shipments containing prohibited or restricted goods.
  • Customs may hold a shipment if the clearance documentation is incomplete.

The packages should be taken more than two days at customs if they are small and do not contain any suspicious items. However, the process takes five days or longer if there are too many items or if there are any suspicious items.
