What is the best way to communicate my product specifications prior to purchasing a sample of the product?

The majority of specifications are jotted down when a purchase order is given. As the main document, it usually contains the following information: MEASURMENTS COLORS MATERIALS CERTIFICATIONS VOLTAGE AND PLUGS PACKING STANDARDS PRODUCT APPLICATIONS PATENT PROTECTION The supplier will use this document during the production of samples. A simple sample of a material can be sent via DHL or FedEx in a day or two, whereas a more complex product can take over a year to develop. Most suppliers take the following time frame: The delivery time for material samples (in-stock) is 3 to 7 days Samples of materials (made to order): 14 to 30 days Samples made by injection molding require 45 to 70 days to complete

How much does it cost to produce a samples?

To manufacture to your specifications, a new mold or tooling is required, as well as the size and type of the product. When ordering factory samples, you generally only have to pay for shipping.
