What is the best way to communicate my product specifications prior to purchasing a sample of the product?

The majority of specifications are jotted down when a purchase order is given. As the main document, it usually contains the following information:

• MEASURMENTS
• COLORS
• MATERIALS CERTIFICATIONS
• VOLTAGE AND PLUGS
• PACKING STANDARDS
• PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
• PATENT PROTECTION

The supplier will use this document during the production of samples. Due to the fact that this document will be passed between engineers and subcontractors (i.e., material suppliers), it is very important that the product specification be as simple and straightforward as possible. You should not leave anything open to interpretation, as this can easily lead to misunderstandings.
